When I start my studies at the University, I just knew that I
wanted have a job that let me work with people, I never could imagine my self
been stuck behind a desk. On that way, psychology seemed to be perfect for me,
because you interact with people all the time, especially if you have a consulting
room, interaction is the work in itself in that case.
But now that I´m ending my studies, I had discovered a lot
of areas of psychology and not only the clinical one. On this way, I knew an
area named community psychology where you can work with groups of people on
vulnerability situation; also you can work on public policies, or participating
on investigations about his stuff. I like this area because I´m interesting on
social problems, and I think that I can be a contribution for this problems if I
work in this stuff.
Now, I´m doing my internship on a public program and I
pretend work in places like that on the future too. Although I didn’t see my self working on a desk,
but now I would like to work on public programs at the same time that I could work
doing investigation, and for that job I probably will combine field work with
office work.
For other way is important to me, and one of the reasons I would
like to work on public programs, have a flex-time work because I like to have
time for do other thing like art, community projects, spend time with friends
and family, if I have something similar on the future (jaja), etc.
The opposite to me, I would like to have as little contact with the people as possible xd
